Must know facts and details about the latest IRCC Annoucements last Jan 22, 2024

Here are some key measures to be taken or important facts that you should know after IRCC new announcement made regarding international student on January 22, 2024#Canada

 1.⁠ ⁠Don’t apply for PPP ( public private partnership ) college programs for Fall 2024 intake ( list given below ) as PGWP will not be provided post studies. If student is fine with not receiving PGWP, they can still proceed.

 2.⁠ ⁠Spouses of students who are in Canada studying at any level can apply for SOWP now as soon as possible ( within few days ) till new rules will be implemented

 3.⁠ ⁠Don’t apply for Visa now till you get your attestation letter from provinces ( This may take time but we need to wait ).  4.⁠ ⁠Attestation letter is not required for PG or Masters course so you can apply for study permit now or anytime.

 5.⁠ ⁠If you have already paid fees to PPP colleges and your intake is starting from Sep 2024 then you may request your college to shift to main campus or take alternative measures.

 6.⁠ ⁠Every University in Canada whether private or public that was already eligible for PGWP before the announcement is still eligible so you can already start applying.

 7.⁠ ⁠Only students pursuing Masters/Doctorate programs are eligible to bring your spouse with them to Canada

 8.⁠ ⁠Even one year PG course or one year Masters course might soon become eligible to apply for 3 years PGWP

 9.⁠ ⁠You can still bring your spouse in Canada 🇨🇦 after getting PGWP

10.⁠ ⁠New rules only apply to study permit holders not work permit holders.

11.⁠ ⁠Caps are expected more ( may be 50%) in GTA area or even in Ontario and BC , so better choose colleges or universities in other regions.

12.⁠ ⁠You can already make a second application to another institution so that you will have better options once we get more details.

13.⁠ ⁠Students who are in Canada right now or will be starting from May 2024 studying at any level and at any PGWP eligible college can apply for PGWP before September 2024.

14.⁠ ⁠Make your file as strong as possible and apply with good IELTS or PTE score for higher visa chances and admission to institutions with Masters.

15.⁠ ⁠If you are eligible to apply now ( exempt from Attestation letter ) then apply as soon as possible
